Holiday in a bottle

by Sara Birer October 26, 2016

As Kate and her family enjoy the sunshine on Hamilton Island, I thought it only fitting to create a post on finding the perfect holiday fragrance. The association between scent and memory means it is essential to select an uplifting and fresh smell for vacation. Do not wear the same fragrance that you wear to work as you will subconsciously be thinking about work - lets be honest that is not what you want!

For a warmer climate choose a lighter fragrance such as citrus or a fresh floral. During winter a spicy or woody fragrance is fitting. Certain ingredients will also have other beneficial properties. For example, cinnamon has been shown to increase attention. Lavender decreases stress, vanilla promotes relaxation and peppermint is soothing for internal functions.
Consider the destination and activities that you will participate in. If travelling overseas, also consider baggage regulations. Roller ball fragrances are suitable as they do not take up as much room and cannot be broken within luggage. If travelling as a couple, you may even find a unisex fragrance that can be worn together. Now when you create memories they will be forever associated with a mood boosting and invigorating scent, enhancing the experience.
